Morning light on window glass
Silver on streets below
Someone taps a radio
Static skips a beat
He looks up at the neon signs
Like birds along a line
Every little flicker there
Feels like it's his sign
Looks like he's gone far
Don't ask why
No one minds
Everybody hums along
Look down tonight
A strange glow in sight
Soft breeze in town
We float like a cloud
Arcade buzz and soda fizz
Echo down the hallway
Once he leaned against the wall
Now he's standing tall
Bright lemon white lights on stage
Dust in the summer air
He walks right to center now
Like he's always there
Looks like he's gone far
Don't ask why
No one minds
Everybody hums along
Look down tonight
A strange glow in sight
Soft breeze in town
We float like a cloud
Chewing gum on old cracked stairs
Ghosts in pastel canvas shoes
Kicking little pebbles slow
Trading tiny news
No need to chase them off
They follow half the way
Like strays that found a porch
And quietly stay
All those rushing voices telling him
To run, to shout, to hide
Slowly faded out through the ghost town
Now it's time to sing the world to sleep
The night knows we're not lying
Well I guess I'm gonna sing
Sing for a while
Well I guess I'm gonna sing
Sing for a while
Well I guess I'm gonna sing
Sing for a while
